Demonstrate knowledge and judgment
of fetal heart rate monitoring principles
defined by national consensus
Inteleos is a global non-profit community of over 140,000+ medical professionals united in assuring that patients
obtain the highest quality healthcare. For more than 45+ years, Inteleos has defined excellence through quality patient care
and certification. Inteleos is the governing and managing organization for the American
Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography® (ARDMS®), the Alliance for Physician
Certification & Advancement™ (APCA™), and the Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS)
Certification Academy™. The Inteleos Foundation oversees the
philanthropic work for the organization.
Inteleos provides a Fetal Monitoring Credentialing (FMC) examination, developed by experts in the field that will be available to physicians,
nurse practitioners, midwives, nurses, and other perinatal clinicians who are involved in the management of labor and delivery patients.
In addition to using recommended NICHD nomenclature and offering traditional knowledge-based questions, the FMC also assesses provider judgment
by using the script concordance test, an evidence-based tool that measures mental processes in uncertain clinical situations.
Inteleos' FMC tool is intended to be adjunct to other educational programs in that FMC provides a mechanism to measure provider
proficiency, to determine if learning has occurred, and to effect change.
C-FMC is the designation for an obstetrical nurse, nurse midwife, or obstetrician who has earned credentialing in electronic fetal monitoring
from Inteleos.
